Footage shows police pursuit minutes before fatal A66 crash

Security-camera footage appears to show several police vehicles pursuing a car just minutes before a crash on the A66 near Middlesbrough that left seven people dead, including two police officers. The clip is believed to have been filmed on Lime Road at 03:36 BST on Saturday, around three minutes before a Volkswagen Passat travelling the wrong way on the A66 collided with a marked police car. The police vehicle involved in the collision was not part of the earlier pursuit, the BBC understands. A police source said the chase had been abandoned before the crash.
