RedMagic 12 Pro Review: A Speed Demon for Gamers

Recently launched globally, the RedMagic 12 Pro marks a significant addition to the gaming phone market. This device not only aims to rival leading flagship smartphones but also boasts performance metrics that are hard to overlook.

Impressive Speed and Performance

Upon unboxing the RedMagic 12 Pro, it was clear that speed is its top priority. Utilizing the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, benchmarks from Geekbench 7 revealed remarkable results.

Against competitors, the RedMagic 12 Pro outstrips devices like the Google Pixel 11 Pro, nearly doubling its multi-core score. While the iPhone 18 Pro Max still holds the edge in single-core performance, the RedMagic shows a commendable effort in multi-core tasks.

In daily use, the phone performs seamlessly. Whether launching apps or switching between them, the responsiveness is gobsmacking, ensuring that every interaction feels instantaneous.

Stylish and Functional Design

The design of the RedMagic 12 Pro compliments its high-tech features. It sports a 6.85-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1216 x 2688 pixels, making every image pop with clarity.

One standout aspect is its nearly bezel-less design, allowing for an unobstructed viewing experience. The under-display front camera, at 16MP, further enhances the sleek aesthetic.

Beneath the glass surface, the device has a premium feel, even if it does attract fingerprints. The back features customizable RGB lighting that can serve both aesthetic purposes and practical notifications, creating a visually striking yet functional device.

Innovative AI Features

The integration of AI capabilities in the RedMagic 12 Pro takes usability to new heights. From smart notetaking to real-time translations, numerous features are geared towards enhancing the user's experience.

I decided to test the Notepad function, where the speed and effectiveness of the AI component was simply outstanding. It made a convenient task feel remarkably effortless.

As expected, gaming on this device is phenomenal. Titles like 'Diablo: Immortal' run beautifully, featuring stunning graphics and fluid controls that elevate the overall experience.

A Quirk with Preloaded Games

Despite its strong emphasis on gaming performance, an interesting situation exists regarding preinstalled apps. The RedMagic 12 Pro comes with various casual games such as Puzzle Spark and Mahjong Blast, which seem misaligned with its serious gaming marketing.

While users can remove these applications, their inclusion somewhat diminishes the phone’s premium appeal. A more appropriate selection or even a blank slate could have better complemented the device’s capabilities.

The Verdict

In conclusion, the RedMagic 12 Pro stands as an exceptional smartphone. Its robust specifications, elegant design, and innovative features make it a tough competitor among today’s flagship devices. For gamers and high-performance seekers alike, this phone deserves your attention.
