Four people have been arrested in London in a counter-terrorism investigation into alleged links with Iran’s intelligence services, the Metropolitan Police said. Officers detained one Iranian national and three dual British-Iranian nationals on suspicion of assisting a foreign intelligence service. Police said the inquiry relates to suspected surveillance of locations and individuals connected to Jewish communities in London, and searches are ongoing at addresses in Watford, Barnet and Wembley. A 40-year-old and a 55-year-old were arrested at addresses in Barnet; a 52-year-old in Watford; and a 22-year-old in Harrow. Separately, six men aged 29, 39, 42, 49 and two aged 20 were arrested at the same Harrow address on suspicion of assisting an offender. All 10 men have been taken into custody. Commander Helen Flanagan, head of Counter Terrorism Policing London, said the arrests, which occurred around 01:00 GMT, form part of a long-running investigation and ongoing efforts to disrupt suspected malign activity. She urged the public, particularly the Jewish community, to remain vigilant and report any concerns to police. The operation is being led by Counter Terrorism Policing London.
