The BBC has confirmed Celebrity Traitors will return to BBC One for a second celebrity series in 2026. Claudia Winkleman will resume hosting duties and production will take place again at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands. The companion show Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked is also set to come back alongside the main programme.
This year’s Celebrity Traitors finale drew an average live audience of 11.1 million, making it the biggest single-show live audience of the year for the broadcaster. That figure was the largest overnight audience since the Gavin and Stacey finale, which attracted 12.3 million viewers on Christmas Day last year. For context, England’s Euro 2025 final averaged roughly 12 million viewers across BBC One and ITV.
The Celebrity Traitors final saw traitors Cat Burns and Alan Carr face off against faithfuls Joe Marler, Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga for an £87,500 charity prize. Comedian Alan Carr was declared the winner after convincing Mohammed and Olusoga he was a faithful.
An economic impact report, produced with Screen Scotland and Visit Scotland, estimates the Traitors franchise — covering the UK, US and Celebrity versions — has contributed about £21.8 million in gross value added to Scotland’s economy since filming began in 2022. The study credits the show with supporting hundreds of local jobs and raising the Highlands’ profile as a filming location.
Based on a Dutch format created by Marc Pos, The Traitors first premiered on BBC One in 2022 and has since inspired editions around the world, including in Australia, Canada and Italy. Kalpna Patel-Knight, the BBC’s head of entertainment, said the series had “truly captivated the nation” and confirmed Ardross Castle will reopen in 2026 to host the celebrity contestants. A fourth season of Traitors UK is also scheduled to air in 2026.
