Hawaii’s Kilauea, one of the world’s most active volcanoes, erupted on 9 November, sending a towering fountain of lava into the air. The U.S. Geological Survey said the eruption continued almost continuously for nearly five hours, with lava reaching about 1,000–1,100 feet (300–330 meters) above the vent. According to the USGS, this was the 36th eruption episode at Kilauea since December 2024.
